ATTRIBUTION GUIDELINES

Thank you for choosing Xignite as your cloud-based market data provider for your web site or mobile application. Your agreement with Xignite requires that you provide proper attribution in your applications. This requirement is waived only under two scenarios:

  • No display use (the data is not displayed in an application nor used in an application that display information to end-users, e.g. consumed by an algorithm).
  • Internal Use Only (the data is never displayed to a non-employee of the firm).

Whenever Xignite market data is displayed or is core to the functioning of a website or application, your agreement requires that you credit Xignite. The way you should attribute Xignite depends on your application. The sections below provide instruction on where and how to display the attribution according to your application type and the nature of the Xignite data it uses.

Note that only including “Xignite” or the Xignite logo is not considered proper attribution, an appropriate link to the Xignite website is required.

If your application is a mobile application, you should place the recommended footer attribution statement in the footer of every page or screen on which you use the Xignite market data. Alternatively, since screen real-estate can be limited on a mobile application, you can display the attribution on the “Information” or the “About” screen of your mobile application and on the download or app marketplace page. Xignite must approve any exception to those guidelines.

About page attribution

Link Formatting

You should use the following link formatting in your application. Note that the actual content of the link depends on which data your application uses. Note that in all the cases below, it is not the Xignite name that is hyperlinked to our web site, but the type of data you display. There are no requirements as to font style, size or color. The text should be legible to a normal user and when associated with other licensing information, it should be of equal prominence.
